KYC and AML Policy

Last updated May 2026

AAQ Gold is committed to operating a safe, lawful, and transparent gold platform. Our Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies are central to that commitment.

Documents we may request
  • Government-issued photo identification (passport, national ID, or driver's license)
  • Proof of address dated within the last three months (utility bill, bank statement, or official letter)
  • Corporate documents for business accounts (certificate of incorporation, register of directors, shareholder structure)
  • Source of funds documentation for large or unusual transactions

Why compliance matters

Compliance helps protect customers, reduce fraud risks, and support lawful international trade. Yes. Compliance, customer verification, and anti-money laundering procedures are part of responsible operations in the gold industry. We take these obligations seriously and apply them consistently across all customers and transaction types.

Customer verification

AAQ Gold may require customers to provide documentation before transactions are approved. Verification is conducted by a licensed identity verification provider. Documents are checked against government databases and then handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Anonymous transactions cannot be accepted. Certain transactions may require full identity verification and supporting documentation before they proceed. We reserve the right to request additional documentation at any time to meet our regulatory obligations.

AML compliance

We maintain anti-money laundering procedures designed to identify suspicious or prohibited activities. Our AML programme includes customer due diligence at onboarding, enhanced due diligence for higher-risk customers, ongoing monitoring of transactions, and reporting to relevant authorities where required by law.

Our AML policies are reviewed annually by a qualified compliance officer and updated to reflect current regulatory guidance.

Transaction monitoring

All transactions on the AAQ Gold platform are monitored in real time. Our systems flag unusual transaction patterns, high-value transfers, and activity inconsistent with a customer's stated profile. Flagged transactions are reviewed by our compliance team before processing. We may pause or cancel a transaction pending a review.

Transactions may be monitored, reviewed, delayed, or rejected for compliance and security purposes. If a transaction is delayed or rejected for compliance reasons, we will notify you to the extent permitted by law.

Sanctions and restricted jurisdictions

Services may not be available in restricted or sanctioned jurisdictions. All customers and transactions are screened against international sanctions lists, including those maintained by the United Nations, European Union, United States OFAC, and other relevant authorities.

Customers who are residents of, or attempting to transact from, a sanctioned or restricted jurisdiction will not be able to use AAQ Gold services. This restriction applies regardless of the customer's nationality or citizenship.

Politically exposed persons

Customers who are politically exposed persons (PEPs) or close associates of PEPs are subject to enhanced due diligence. This may include additional documentation, approval from senior management, and more frequent ongoing review. Being a PEP does not automatically disqualify you from using AAQ Gold services.

Sanctions screening

All customers and transactions are screened against international sanctions lists, including those maintained by the United Nations, European Union, United States OFAC, and other relevant authorities. Customers who appear on sanctions lists cannot use AAQ Gold services.

Reporting obligations

AAQ Gold reserves the right to cooperate with regulators and authorities where legally required. Where we identify activity that meets the threshold for a suspicious activity report (SAR) or similar regulatory filing, we are legally required to report it to the relevant authority. We are not permitted to inform the customer that a report has been made.

We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies in all jurisdictions where we operate, including but not limited to financial intelligence units, central banks, and anti-corruption authorities.

Data handling

All KYC and AML documentation is stored securely and retained for a minimum of seven years as required by applicable financial regulations. Documents are accessible only to authorised compliance staff and are not shared with third parties except as required by law.
